More About Golden Horizon

Keeping Your Family Together With Peace of Mind:   At Golden Horizons, we offer an active and home-like social community for your loved one to enjoy their day while receiving the care that they need and deserve.  In addition, care is provided by trained staff, including accredited CNAs.  Family caregivers will have peace of mind knowing their loved one is spending the day in a safe, comfortable and socially engaging environment while receiving exceptional care.  Golden Horizons was created to help your loved one stay where they most want to be - in their homes and with their families.

Our 7 Core Values

  • Joy - We always provide great enthusiasm and happiness by engaging our participants.
  • Respect - We always respect the rights and dignity of our participants.

Convenient Hours:  Our Center is open Monday - Friday from 7:30 am until 5:30 pm to accommodate caregivers' schedules.

Accessible Location:  We are conveniently located at the corner of Hillandale Road and Hillsborough Road in the heart of Durham.  We are readily accessible to the VA, Duke, UNC, and the RTP.  Our address is 1106 Hillandale Road, Suite 3.

Delicious, Nutritious Meals:  Our participants receive a delicious, hot noon-time meal with nutritious snacks throughout the day.  Our menus are planned under the guidance of a registered dietician to comply with participants' nutritional needs and any individual dietary restrictions.  All food is freshly prepared by a local restaurant.

Getting Started With Us: Each participant's needs and interests are unique and we don't put families into a one-size-fits-all box.  The first step in the process is to have a confidential family assessment with Golden Horizons, your loved one, and the decision-makers in your family.  We encourage you to call our Executive Director, Julie Bell, at 919-412-0185 to make an appointment for your family's assessment today as we have very limited spaces.  We look forward to meeting your family!
